State Issue 2 would permit qualified electors to vote in person at their county board of elections, or by mail, anytime during the 35 days prior to an election. Also called “no-fault” absentee balloting.

Under current law, voters can either vote at their polling place on election day or cast an absentee ballot, but can only qualify to vote absentee if they are unable to get to the polls on election day. If State Issue 2 passes, electors will be allowed to vote absentee for any reason or for no reason and will not have to wait until election day to cast their ballots in person at a physical polling booth.
